Why a short sleeve wool t-shirt for the cold months
In winter, the layer closest to your skin does most of the work. Here is why it should be merino.

Warm outside, comfortable inside
Merino regulates your temperature. It keeps the warmth in when you are out in the cold, and lets heat out when you step into a warm office, train or home.
Dry, not clammy
Wool absorbs moisture from your skin without feeling wet. Cotton holds on to sweat and turns cold as soon as you stop moving.
Fits under everything
Short sleeves sit smoothly under a knit, a shirt or a jacket, without bunching at the arms.
Wear it again
Merino is naturally odour resistant, so you can wear it several days in a row and wash it far less.
Start with the base layer
The t-shirt is the layer closest to your skin. Add a long sleeve or our crewneck on top as the day gets colder. Same yarn and same size chart, so the pieces are made to work together.
Base layer
Next to the skin. Merino regulates your temperature naturally and is soft enough to wear all day, in short or long sleeves.
Mid layer
The warm layer on top. The 14 gg Crewneck in the same 17.5 micron merino, with sleeves cut to sit well over a t-shirt.

Questions before you buy
Is a t-shirt warm enough in winter?
On its own, no t-shirt is a winter garment. As the base layer under a knit or a jacket, merino does the most important job: it keeps you dry and holds on to your body heat, so the layers on top work better.
Does merino itch?
Not at this fineness. The itch from traditional wool comes from thick fibres pressing against the skin. At 17.5 micron, the fibres are fine enough to bend, so the t-shirt can be worn directly against the skin.
Which size and length should I choose?
Choose your usual size, the t-shirt has a regular fit. Regular length is longer in the body than Short. Toke is 174 cm and wears M. Niels is 190 cm and wears 3XL Regular. You can find all measurements in the size guide.
How do I wash it?
On the 30°C wool program with a wool detergent and no softener. Lay it flat to dry. Merino needs far less washing than cotton, often airing it overnight is enough.
Can I return it?
Yes. We offer lifetime returns, and you can read the details in our return policy. If the size is not right, write to hope@durablejourney.com and we will help you find the right one.
