Live The Journey Day 8

Live The Journey Day 8

I woke up in the car as the morning sun shone through the window. Over the lake, there was a thick fog, and it was beautiful just lying there and looking out. But I had to get up, head out to the gas stove, and make a cup of coffee. While I stood there drinking my morning coffee, I saw two beavers up on land. I approached them carefully until they finally jumped into the lake.

I packed up and drove on, excited to visit @maglificiovenezia which is located just outside Venice. I was meeting with @japocaj who is the third generation in the family business. I think that’s really beautiful. Jacopo took great care of me, and we had a really interesting day together. I got a tour of the knitting factory, had good talks about our upcoming flat-knit universe, and about all kinds of other things.

For me, visiting Maglificio, Jacopo, and his family business was a huge experience. After a great day in Venice, I headed west—about an hour and a half from Bergamo, up in the mountains near Lake Como. The place is called @agriturismolecasedeibaff and it’s absolutely fantastic. I visited it with some friends a few years ago.

On the way there, I took the toll road, and when I was supposed to exit toward the mountains, I couldn’t find my toll ticket. So I had to pay the full rate for the entire motorway. The 82 euros and the frustration almost got the better of me, but it helped to remember that I was heading toward a familiar place. I arrived as the sun was setting, and everything here was incredibly beautiful. Upstairs in the room, I went straight to bed after an all-in-all fantastic day.
